The new juniors are coming in now. I know some of them. I heard them play their solos in concerts. I know their heritage. I’m excited to play with more people. But I’m now having cold feet. I know I have not been practicing my horn. I know this is my fault. My tone is getting from bad to worse. I can’t slur up as smoothly as people my age should. I basically sound like shit....
